Kobe Bryant Goes Hollywood in February

Most athletes dream of having their jersey hung high in the rafters of the stadium or arena that they played in. While Kobe Bryant might have that come true he will first become immortalized in a different aspect.

It was announced that the five time NBA champion for the Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe Bryant, will be the first ever athlete to have his hands and footprint immortalized in cement. The immortalization process will take place in front of the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on February 19th. The Grauman’s Chinese Theatre is famous for having cement blocks in front of it with famous actors and actresss’ hand and footprint.

The ceremony will kick off the NBA All Star weekend. The ceremony will unveil the foot and hand print and Kobe Bryant will host a private party that holds over 1,200 people. At the party, Kobe Bryant will coincidently unveil a short small production movie that he is making along with Nike. The movie is set to premier to the public sometime within the coming month.

The distinction of having a hand and footprint in front of the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre was previously reserved for well known actors. Kobe Bryant will be the first ever athlete to join the ranks of famous Hollywood names like Brad Pitt, Marylin Monroe, Will Smith and Harrison Ford.

When asked what he thought of having such an honor Kobe Bryant said that he is looking forward to visiting the world famous theatre and that he thought it was incredibly cool to have such an honor bestowed upon him.
