Rangers Look to cool off White Sox

The Texas Rangers are in first place in the American League West and own the best record in major baseball at 50-31. Tonight they take on the Chicago White Sox in Chicago. The Rangers have enjoyed the resurgence of outfielder Josh Hamilton. The leftfielder started the season on fire hitting four home runs in one game. He then cooled off and went through a 4-40 slump. Hamilton is back again hitting well and making the Rangers lineup one of the most feared in baseball.

Tonight the Rangers send Scott Feldman to the mound. Feldman has a record of just 2-6 on the year with an ERA of 6.13. He gets the job of trying to cool off the hot bats of the White Sox. He will be trying to win his third straight start, which he has not done since September of 2009. The White Sox routed Texas in the opener of their series 19-2. Kevin Youkilis, Alex Rios and Adam Dunn all homered for the Sox. The rout ended the Rangers’ four consecutive game winning streak, on the road.

Chicago has had an up and down season heading to the all star break. The White Sox own a season record of 43-37 good enough for first place in the American League Central division. The White Sox will send Dylan Axelrod to the mound tonight. Axelrod is just 0-1 on the season with an ERA of 4.50. He came back from his worst of three starts with a good effort against the New York Yankees on Thursday. The rookie pitcher has never pitched against the Rangers.

The current line has the Rangers as the favorite on the road at -115 with the White Sox sitting at +105. The run total is sitting at 10. Smart money takes the Rangers to win behind the hot hitting of Hamilton and teammates. The total will cash out to those bettors who take the OVER.
