Rangers Look To Win Series against Rockies

The Texas Rangers have been one of baseball’s best teams the last two plus seasons and are back at the top again. Texas has a record of 44-28, tops in the majors and they lead their division race by five games. Nevertheless, they lost Saturday against the Colorado Rockies, but will look to rebound tonight at home against the Rockies in the final game of their three-game set. Colorado has a record of just 27-43 and is just 2-12 in 14 interleague games this season. However, on Saturday they had 17 hits and scored 11 runs in their win against the Rangers.

Texas has won 25 of 29 games this season when recording 11 or more hits, but Saturday was one of their four losses. The loss was just their first in eight games. Matt Harrison will get the nod tonight for the Rangers. Harrison is 9-3 on the season with an ERA of 3.41. The southpaw is 5-0 with an ERA of just 1.43 in his last six trips to the mound. The Rockies will counter Harrison with Alex White. The right-hander is just 2-5 on the season with an ERA of 6.06. White has lost two of his last three starts for the Rockies.

The Rangers offense has played extremely well this season and over its last five games at home is averaging nearly 7 runs per game. Helping the offense has been Nelson Cruz, who had three hits in five at bats Saturday including home runs number 10 and 11 on the season. Over the last 17 games at home, Cruz has a batting average of .333 with 8 home runs and 24 runs batted in. Ranger teammate Josh Hamilton has come down to earth, after an incredible start to the season. Saturday he struggled with four strikeouts and over the last 17 games has hit only .188.

The line has the Rangers as the favorite -240, with the Rockies sitting at +220. The run total is at 11. Texas will start another winning streak tonight against Colorado. Take the Rangers to win with the total cashing out to the OVER.
