Tiger Sets Sail

Tiger Woods just can’t seem to get out of the golf world headlines these days and not for his play. Although he is working toward a come back on the golf course his personal life seems to continue to be filled with turmoil. Recently a reporter from Palm Beach Post let on that Tiger Woods was selling is 155 foot mega yacht. This yacht was a gift for his ex-wife Elin Nordegren from 2004. She gave it back to Tiger during their not so simple divorce proceedings a year ago.

The mega yacht, named “Privacy” was purchased by Tiger Woods for $20 million dollars and is now up for sale for a mere $25 million dollars. Until the yacht is sold it will remain at North Palm Beach docks. Some such as John Staluppi, a local builder of mega yachts, thinks the price is much too high. He believes that the big yacht market has deflated and with a terrible economy there are fee banks willing to finance. The only selling point might be the famous owner.

On another note, while trying to recoup from a divorce, Tiger Woods purchased a 62 foot diving boat named “Solitude”. He paid approximately $3.1 million dollars for this boat. Tiger Woods has taken his personal defeat to heart and appears to be trying to regain the backing of his fans on the green by making sure he is more available to them for autographs and photos. Perhaps this will win his fans back over after a tough time in the press.
